Company description

The business function Supply Chain Design & Planning has co-workers in Pratteln Switzerland at IKEA Supply AG, in Älmhult Sweden at IKEA of Sweden AB and in Shanghai China at IKEA Purchasing Service (China) Co., Ltd. Supply Chain Design & Planning is one of many business functions within Supply Chain Development, IKEA Range & Supply.

Right now we are looking for a strategic Communication Business Partner that through planned and concise communication will create the pre-conditions for colleagues across IKEA to dare do things just a little bit differently.

About the assignment
IKEA is impacted by the constant changes in the retail world and in customers’ needs and demands. To fully embrace the opportunities of being a multi-channel retailer IKEA aim to set the prerequisites to be faster and more agile in meeting customers’ needs and demands for a better, more affordable and sustainable everyday life at home. New technology and innovations is a key driver in this movement.

The past year, IKEA has started to build capabilities in more automated ways of working when it comes to planning of sales and supply. Introducing robotic process automation and artificial intelligence, together with improved processes and ways of working there are clear benefits for the business and the people working in this field.

Building on existing strengths within the sales and supply planning area, IKEA is on a journey to set up a Supply Chain Design & Planning business function. To simplify the assignment of this function it is to manage the design of IKEAs global distribution network and to plan the sales and supply process from all dimensions. The function consists of competencies from different business teams, from across the globe, with the competence and capabilities to support all IKEA units with scalable and flexible solutions. Together they all contribute to IKEA becoming stronger and wiser in relation to Supply Chain Design & Planning.

As a Communication Business Partner you are a strategic and tactical partner to the business, securing communication strategies and implementation of business- driven communication. A big part of your assignment will be focused on change communication.

As part of the Supply Chain Design & Planning management team you contribute to the business agenda and the deliverables of the functions assignment across the IKEA network. Moreover, you develop, implement and follow up on communication plans for the function, including supporting leaders to lead in change through planned change management activities and coaching in communication matters.

As Supply Chain Design & Planning Communication Business Partner you will, among other tasks:
• Be responsible for driving the communication agenda: identify business needs and key messages, and develop communication plans to meet the short and long term needs.
• Develop, lead and execute a change communication strategy for various levels of organisational change.
•  Coach and support co-workers and leaders in communication matters and oversee the development of the total information landscape including all channels.
• Be responsible for securing a transparent and sustainable information/communication flow throughout Supply Chain Design & Planning and to the many stakeholders across the IKEA network.
• Contribute to a shared communication agenda and identify opportunities for alignment within a function, across units and across IKEA organisations. Support various communication projects within Supply Chain Development.
• Lead content planning and development for all major meetings during the year cycle in alignment with Supply Chain Development Communication Business Partner and the Supply Chain Design & Planning management team.
• Secure the availability and execution of communication-related training activities.
• Lead and/or support any external communication within Supply Chain Design & Planning regarding corporate information and potential crisis communication.


Qualification

As a person you are an agile thinker who is open to change, and you get energised by working both independently and in partnership cross-functionally. You appreciate the mix of strategic thinking and turning communication theory into practice. You have experience from executing greater change projects. You easily build trust and strong working relationships across a wide diversity of people. You have high integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a responsible way. You are able to influence others on all levels in the organisation and drive decisions and consensus. You are willing to travel to meet colleagues in different locations. Moreover, you have a desire to find new, simpler ways and make them happen by inspiring and motivating people. Last but not least, you have a genuine interest for the digitalisation agenda and a firm believe that communication is one key enabler for a better business.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
• Proven advanced training in Communications or equivalent and 5+ years of external and internal communications experience
• Extensive knowledge of using insights to formulate strategic communications activities that, in turn, will drive the IKEA business
• The ability to “hit the ground running”, quickly gaining up to date knowledge of the IKEA corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people, to ensure the accurate representation of our brand
• Proactive attitude in problem solving and hands-on approach when necessary
• The capability to work with complex problems and solutions in a large, global organisation.
• The ability to focus on possibilities and opportunities and have the desire to work with simple and effective methods, the IKEA way.
• Extensive knowledge in IKEA leadership with the capability to inform, inspire and empower others and create sense of togetherness, belonging and trust within a team multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in change management.
• Fluency in English.
• Capability to be an IKEA ambassador in everything you do.
